Standard Number 3.2.6: There is a clear and appropriate distinction, in writing and in practice, between the policy-making functions of the governing board and the responsibility of the administration and faculty to administer and implement policy.Full Compliance As stipulated in the Board of Regents Bylaws (Article I, 2), the government, control, and management of the University System of Georgia rest exclusively with the Board of Regents. This authority is granted to the Board by the Constitution of Georgia (see Article VIII, § 4) and the Official Code of Georgia Annotated (see § 20-3) . Furthermore, the Statutes of Georgia Southern University define the composition of the administrators and faculty of Georgia Southern and state the roles and responsibilities of each. The Board of Regents Policy Manual also describes the authority and responsibilities of the president of each institution within the University System (see § 204 ). In § 302 , the Board of Regents delineates the functions of the faculty and administrative officers of the various institutions. |
