On behalf of Georgia Southern University I welcome you to our web site for reaffirmation of accreditation by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). While many of the most significant aspects of reaffirmation will take place in 2004 and 2005, the University has been preparing for this process for some time. Our theme for the Quality Enhancement Plan, “Advancing a Culture of Engagement,” speaks to the learning environment that we have created and now continue to enhance through the efforts of faculty, staff and students. Georgia Southern has as its goal to become one of the nation's top comprehensive universities within a decade, and the introspective study occasioned by reaffirmation is just one of many steps that we will take to advance toward that goal.
